We help aspiring barbers hone their skills as they begin their apprenticeship, prepare to take the state board exam and start their own business. Learn the skills you need to pass, register your business and make it a success with our staff of experienced consultants.

Master Barber Licensing Exam


​Once you are ready to apply to be a Master Barber, we will assist with accessing the paperwork you need, provide the platform to practice your skills and ensure you are ready for NYS Board practical exam. When you apply for your license, you will need to fulfill several requirements:
  • Successful completion of a course and exam that covers the transmission of contagious diseases and proper methods of sanitation and sterilization
  • 2-year apprenticeship under an NYS-licensed master barber or
  • Successful completion of a NYS barber course of study

Apprenticeship

A barber apprentice must pursue a course of study in barbering under the direction of a New York State-licensed supervisor. Our instructors will take you through the required courses and get you the experience to begin your apprenticeship and begin pursuing your career.

Business skills


​​Whether you're preparing to test for your license or you want to open your own shop, we'll walk you through the process of gathering the necessary documents and understanding the importance of customer service, financial budgeting and networking skills you will need to build a successful business.
